CNN, always helpful, tells us what will kill us today. Do you know where your children are?

Also, it’s an imported Mexican pepper. Not only are they invading our country, taking our high-paying landscaping jobs, and enciting our women to turn to lustful & immoral ways, now they’re trying to kill us through our love of delicious fresh salsas. Brown devils!

Heh.

As a matter of course, I rank Logo right up there with BET & Lifetime (Golden Girls reruns aside as that shit’s going to be funny forevah) as a niche channel with below average offerings catering to the lowest common denominator. However, I’m really looking forward to Wednesday’s premiere of Sordid Lives: The Series.

I grew up in a small town with women like these. When my friend Patterson took me to see the film version of Sordid Lives at the gay film festival a few years back it was like watching old home movies. I will definitely be tuning in on Wednesday night.

Some stuff I found lying around on the internets.

My lappie passed away.

After more years of service than could reasonably be expected, my elderly Dell finally died over the weekend. After giving it a suitable burial in the backyard, we scooted down to Office Depot where I purchased the new love of my life, an HP Pavilion dv9700. An AMD X2 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 130GB internet porn storage device, a 17″ screen and an extended keyboard. Sweet.

Two things I don’t like: the case is shiny and a magnet for fingerprints. I don’t really see myself using the little polishing cloth HP thoughtfully included. I’ve resigned myself to it looking as though I store it at the bottom of a well. The other thing is when I opened it I discovered a spacer on the keyboard missing between the Escape key and the F1 key. HP offered a full keyboard replacement (and a six-week turnaround) as my only option. Office Depot offered to exchange the machine, but I’d already started customizing and copying stuff over from my old hard drive because my toy was shiny & new and I wanted to play with it. I guess I’ll just snag one from the display model next time I’m in the store.

Welcome to Beirut!

Midtown sounds like a war zone tonight and the air is hazy from smoke. The dogs are freaked. Beebs has spent the last several hours hiding in the bathroom. I gave her some Rescue Remedy to take the edge off. For my liking, I’m not hearing nearly enough explosions followed by shrieks of pain and eventual sirens. Remember kids, it’s no fun unless somebody loses an eye.
