Kansas City, opinion, cocktails, snark.

Local bloggy stuff I’ve recently found.

200 Nipples: Here’s a cool local company with a crazy sales strategy that is apparently working. I was #8 for their new shirt and am really looking forward to seeing what they come up with in the future.

The Kansas Citian: I’m not sure whether James is a cynical independent, a right-wing wacko or just a good old-fashioned shit-stirrer, but I still tune in daily for blood-boiling good times.

A pretty decent cocktail, though I tried the Nellie and Joe’s Key Lime juice as recommended and frankly find fresh worked better. Also, Peychaud’s bitters were preferable to Angostura.

A mash note to Phil Kline courtesy of emawkc.

KC Missed Connection o’ the Day from the great State of the Line.

  2. I’m going to second the right wing wacko.

I think the unironic use of the term “agenda” in a story about a homosexual Star Wars character kinda gave it away. Well, that and the “won’t somebody please think of the children!” argument. Oh, and using the term sexual “preference.” Okay, and an insistence on one’s own “tolerance” as a preface to saying something that’s anything but.

“It’s one thing to be tolerant of people’s sexual preference and what they choose to do in the privacy of their own homes. It’s quite another to be subtly pushing an agenda on an unsuspecting youth.”
