Kansas City, opinion, cocktails, snark.

VP, don’t preach.

The Palin pick gets weirder.

Amidst a flood of baseless but fun rumors that her youngest kid is actually her daughter’s, and  Palin faked her pregnancy to protect her daughter from the scandal, the presumptive veep today revealed her daughter is in fact now 5 months pregnant, will marry the father and will keep the baby. All that at the tender age of 17. That’s absinence-only education (which Palin supported) at work.

“Explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support,” Palin wrote in the conservative group’s questionnaire.

And in other rumory news, Palin may have ties to definitely was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a political group pushing for Alaska’s secession from the United States. Now that’s mavericky! Oh, and y’know… unpatriotic and possibly treasonous.

All this comes after a Republican spokesperson all but admitted they were caught with their pants down re. Troopergate.

Was any actual vetting done or did they just grab photos of a bunch of pretty white women who like Jeebus, put them on a wall and throw a dart?

Luckily, they were able to dump most of this on a holiday and during our annual hoovering of the Gulf coast, so it probably won’t get much play.

Edited to add link to ABC News blog. AIP confirms Palin was a member in the 90’s.

  1. For actual facts on Troopergate, check out here.

As for your other info, it is all conspiracy factors. Wow, it’s a shame that you seem to believe everything the Internet says. I bet you’re also one to believe everything the media spoon feeds you.

  2. This would be much more serious if it were’t all so effin’ funny.

On the other hand I’ve a friend abroad who says that watching this election cycle is akin to watching a good friend drink themselves to death.

I wonder if she means a W.C. Fields death or a Nicolas Cage death?

  3. God, D.A., I hope you’re joking. Otherwise, you are are indeed a Prince of Irony.

So, um, do we get to vote whether fornicators like Governor Palin’s daughter should be permitted to marry?

Because, if I recall correctly, the Bible disapproves of fornication.

God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Easy.
