Hero of the week.

Filed under: Uncategorized — akcb @ 1:05 am

Sonia Sotomayor took time away from her busy schedule stealing cars and spray-painting fiery reverse-racist screeds on the walls of subway tunnels this week to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee as they determined whether or not she’s suitable to serve on the nation’s highest court. Questioned at length by Jefferson Beauregard “Big Daddy” Sessions III, Tom “You got some splainin to do” Coburn and some guy who stole Norm Coleman’s seat in Minnesota, she remained poised and cool in the face of 912 straight hours of old white men repeating the phrase “wise Latina” until their dessicated lips turned blue and their tongues bled old money. She didn’t even cut anyone with one of the razor blades she keeps tucked in her hair(cuz you never know).

Sonia Sotomayor, you are AKCB’s Hero of the Week!

  1. If I was SENATOR Bastard, I would have followed Tom Coburn’s question thus: “Judge Sotomayor, I have but a single question for you: do you like to leeve in Ah-mer-a-cah?”

Anyway, if she doesn’t get the SCOTUS gig, maybe she can open a landscaping business.

(God forbid we have a justice with actual trial court experience.)

  2. ZOMG, as my darling daughter would say. I found your blog today and have but one request: Will you puh-leeze write something every single day? I have laughed, I have cried, I have been deeply moved…and now I’m going to make a Margarita. Sadly, with a mix, but it’s just one so I think that’s okay.

    Also your commentors are brilliant.

Also I love that you have a picture of Bea Arthur on your site.

Also I love the rice widget.

Thank you so very much. Keep up the great work.
